OUR AUTHORS
Mark Harris
A keen traveller and hobbyist Mark was born in London and has spent his life in Essex.
He turned to poetry as a creative way of dealing with bereavement and what started as an exploration into emotional expression quickly turned into a passion for the written word.
Inspiration comes from his own life, those he meets and from artists and writers, among whom favourites are Leonard Cohen, Emily Dickinson and Frida Kahlo
Patrick Mc Leod
Patrick is American born, but has lived mostly in England. He is an Art Historian and a Celticist, currently a researcher at University of Glasgow.
Brenda Wells
Brenda Wells lives in the Stour Valley on the Essex Suffolk border, where walking in the surrounding countryside often inspires her work. After spending many years working in Education, she is now able to devote time to creative endeavours, which led naturally to the writing of poetry. She is inspired by the early Imagist poets and more recent artists in words, who successfully ‘write the landscape’.
In her first book, Seasons of Poetry, much of her work reflected nature and the movement of the seasons, while this continues to be much in evidence in Time Tumbled Words, she also now shares a love of story-telling, with the inclusion of poems which are more narrative in style and content.
